Mankato Composite Squadron is a Group IV unit of Minnesota Wing. Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. The CAP, as a congressionally chartered non-profit organization, maintains a mutually supportive relationship with the USAF, executing inland search and rescue operations and training future leaders in return for funding and support. CAP members dedicate their time and energy to supporting and improving their community.


Civil Air Patrol's three primary missions as defined by the United States Congress are:

  • Aerospace Education,
  • Emergency Services, and the
  • Cadet Program.

Thursdays, 7:00 p.m., Riverbend Academy, 110 N 6th St, Mankato, MN 56001
Mankato Composite Squadron meets weekly from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. each Thursday evening at the Riverbend Academy. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome. If you are are interested in becoming a member, please stop by during a meeting or contact a representative of the squadron.

The unit Emergency Service Officer, 1st Lt Luke Frederick, has published a plan for Urban Direction Team training. Currently, the squadron has a goal of 80% certification for all eligible members. Please plan on attending these events to get trained and certified!
