Mankato Composite Squadron is a Group IV unit of Minnesota Wing. Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. CAP is a congressionally chartered non-profit organization, maintains a mutually supportive relationship with the USAF, executing inland search and rescue operations and training future leaders in return for funding and support. CAP members dedicate their time and energy to supporting and improving their community.

Mankato Composite Squadron meets weekly from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. each Thursday evening at the airport. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome. If you are are interested in becoming a member, please stop by during a meeting or contact a representative of the squadron.

On Thursday, (March 14, 2013) four cadets were promoted in Mankato. The promotions ranged from the first stripe to the 7th stripe. We had a Dolittle, a Hap Arnold, a Curry and a Wright Brothers promotion.

The fist weekend was a busy weekend for Mankato. The squadron hosted the Group IV Squadron Leadership School (SLS) class. SLS is a 12 hour course designed to take Senior Members to the first level of leadership and management in Civil Air Patrol. |
